The CLOQ idea

Inventions often result from a combination of purpose and chance. I was looking for the perfect present for my dad's birthday. At the same time my wife, who teaches music lessons, needed a new clock for her studio. Coincidently, we had a floor installer working on our new floors. The installer showed me all of the left over small pieces and odds and ends of flooring that could not be used. He offered to take them to the dump. This seemed like such a waste! The pieces of flooring were too small for the floor, but there must be some use for them. Aha! With the right ideas and equipment I could turn them into clocks! This is how CLOQ was born.

How are CLOQ's made?

CLOQ was designed using 3D CAD program. The individual pieces are cut out using a CNC router. Electronics are installed and then each CLOQ is assembled and tested. Finally, firmware is uploaded that controls CLOQ's timekeeping and WiFi features.
